About
Dr Rajan Nansi is a leading GDC registered Specialist in Periodontics with advanced training from King’s College London, where he completed his MClinDent in Periodontology at Guy’s Hospital and achieved Specialist Membership in Periodontics with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is a Past President of the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and continues to serve the Society as the East Midlands Representative. He is an elected member of the BSP Faculty, an expert group recognised for clinical and educational excellence, and he also holds an Honorary Lectureship at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. In recognition of his contributions to dentistry, he was elected a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry in 2023.

Rajan has held roles on the BSP Council and the European Federation of Periodontology Scientific Affairs Committee. Since the early stages of his career he has been committed to the advancement of the profession. As the inaugural Chair of the BSP Early Career Group, he helped establish a platform that continues to support and guide younger clinicians in the field. He is widely respected for his calm and ethical approach to care. He is known for his clear communication and his ability to work collaboratively with referring dentists to guide patients toward predictable, stable outcomes.

In addition to his clinical work, Rajan is an experienced educator. He regularly lectures across the UK and internationally on prevention, treatment planning, and both non surgical and advanced surgical periodontal techniques. His teaching is geared toward raising standards of care for dentists, specialists, hygienists, and therapists.

Clinical Focus
Rajan provides the full spectrum of periodontal and peri implant care, with a focus on personalised planning, minimally invasive techniques, and long term disease stability. His expertise includes non surgical therapy, pocket reduction procedures, regenerative surgery using bone grafting and biomaterials, and the management of complex periodontal defects. He is highly experienced in aesthetic and functional crown lengthening and works closely with restorative colleagues to optimise both appearance and restorative predictability.

He has a recognised interest in periodontal plastic surgery and routinely performs soft tissue grafting procedures, connective tissue grafts, free gingival grafts, and mucogingival techniques to manage recession and enhance both function and aesthetics. Alongside periodontal therapy, Rajan also provides dental implant treatment for cases where teeth are missing or no longer salvageable. His approach ensures that periodontal health forms the foundation for successful implant outcomes.
